The Modus team congratulates Scott Vance, general counsel for Energy Northwest. He was featured in Vanguard Magazine this month for his work building a culture of safety and supporting the consortium’s efforts to continue developing clean energy sources.
We’re proud to advise Scott and Energy Northwest in their planning for a small modular reactor at the Columbia Nuclear Generating Station site, including securing a loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Program Office.
The SMR project for Energy Northwest is planned as one of the country’s first commercial advanced reactors. It promises to safely produce more sustainable and reliable energy than the consortium’s other renewable sources.
As Scott noted in the article, “If we’re going to truly move away from carbon-emitting electricity sources, we need a game changer.” Advanced reactor projects like the one at Energy Northwest have the potential to do just that.
