Modus’ Eric Gould to Speak at Canadian Nuclear Association Conference
Category: News & Events
I’m looking forward to participating in a panel at the Canadian Nuclear Association conference on Sept. 15. The panel will discuss Success and Developments in Ontario Refurbishment Projects.
There’s a lot to talk about on this front. Large capital projects are notorious for extensive cost overruns and schedule delays.
Ontario Power Generation’s Darlington Unit 2 refurbishment was a rare bright spot, having been completed on time and on budget last year. Lessons learned from Unit 2 were immediately rolled into the next phase of OPG’s four-unit refurbishment project, as well as the planning process for Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program and MCR Project, which is progressing on schedule.
As an industry, we have the ability to move the needle on project performance, learning from these successes and building credibility and support for these types of projects. This is something we’re passionate about at Modus, so I’m excited about participating in the conversation next week.
